I've been part of the artist community at New Urban Arts since 2013. Most recently, with a grant from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, I'm the 2016 Scholar-in-Residence.
I co-directed The Untitlement Project, a summer art internship for teens that focused on gender and identity development. We used creative expression to tackle issues of gender, race, sexuality, and identity Some topics included: our bodies, sexual health and wellness, and relationships and consent.
Previously, I was an artist mentor at New Urban Arts. I taught digital media arts and sewing to interested high school students.
This video is an example of a multimedia college admissions essay I worked with a New Urban Arts student to create.
He entered College of the Atlantic in Fall 2014!
